An extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit has been called in Qatar following last week's Israeli attack that killed five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer.
The meeting takes place in Doha, bringing together leaders and senior officials from Arab and Muslim countries to discuss recent developments in the Middle East.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan traveled to the capital of Qatar accompanied by his wife, Emine Erdogan, intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin, foreign policy advisor Akif Çağatay Kılıç, presidential communications director Burhanettin Duran, and AKP deputy chairman Halit Yerebakan.
Erdogan's visit comes just a few days after Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan's stay in Doha, and discussions are expected to focus on regional coordination and a joint response to recent developments in Gaza.
