It is the decisive day of the electoral campaign for the American presidential elections: tonight at 21:00 (three in the morning in Albania) in Philadelphia, the vice president of the United States Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will face each other.
ISSUES
The stakes are high, as candidates this evening will have to present their vision for the country and answer questions on key topics: abortion and civil rights, borders and immigration, economic and fiscal prescriptions, the wars in Gaza and Ukraine, perhaps also the veterans and the chaotic withdrawal from Kabul, where attention has once again turned to mutual accusations.
Rules of debate
There will be no audience in the auditorium of the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, candidates' microphones will be muted if they speak out of turn, and they will not be allowed to bring files of notes with them. The televised duel will last 90 minutes and will be broadcast by ABC News.
The rules of the challenge, adopted by the two candidates' teams, mirror those already adopted in the June 27 showdown on CNN between President Joe Biden and Trump. There will be no opening statements from the two candidates, and this represents a new development compared to past presidential elections. Trump and Harris, however, will have the opportunity to send a message to voters in the last two minutes.

Trump won the coin toss to choose either his position during the debate or whether to give the closing speech. The tycoon has chosen to be the one who will close the debate and have the last word with the voters. As in June, Trump will be at the podium to the left of the television screen. Moderators
