Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said Israel will seek to bar the UN Palestine Refugee Agency (UNRWA) from operating in Gaza after the war, adding that it "will not be part of tomorrow".
The statement comes after allegations that members of its staff were involved in the October 7 attacks in Israel.
In a post on the 'X' platform, Katz says he thanks the US government for its decision to cut funding to UNRWA.
"UNRWA perpetuates the refugee issue, obstructs peace and serves as a civilian arm of Hamas in Gaza," he writes.
An Israeli official said yesterday that Israel shared information about 12 employees suspected of being involved in the October 7 attacks with both UNRWA and the US, without elaborating.
Israel's relations with the UN have deteriorated in recent months, as the organization's top officials repeatedly condemned the country's military approach to the war in Gaza.
