Montenegrin authorities have managed to find the van used by the mobsters who planned to open a 30-meter-long tunnel leading to the Supreme Court warehouse. Many files have been stolen but the perpetrators have made a mess of the documents to hide their true objective.
In the warehouse of the Supreme Court in Podgorica, several pistols were stolen that are evidential materials against the leaders of the criminal clan from Kavaka, while the investigators are looking for 6 people who participated in the opening of the tunnel that leads to the premises of this court.
Vijesti writes that most likely the suspects are foreigners, while they will be accused of serious theft, obstruction of justice and concealment of evidence.
In the Botuni area, the police found a van that was allegedly used by the suspects.
Gazeta Vijesti writes that the vehicle was parked almost all the time in front of the building where the digging of the tunnel began.
In addition to the weapon, files were also stolen, but it is believed that the criminals deliberately messed with the documents, to hide their main objective.
The tunnel, measuring 70x60 centimeters, was most likely dug between the end of July and last weekend, when thieves managed to break into the warehouse. Investigators first placed a robot in the tunnel, which filmed the entire area, and then members of the Anti-Terrorist Unit went through in that area looking for clues that could help them with the investigation.
Almost the entire management staff of the Police Directorate and prosecutors were at the scene yesterday.
Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, after visiting the premises of the court and the apartment from where the tunnel to the warehouse was opened, declared that the mafia will not defeat the state, no matter how financially strong it is and how much support it has within the system.
