A spot that invites Italian citizens to say "No" to the proposals of the 'Meloni' government in the referendum. This risks being the masterpiece of the center-right as the hour of the referendum on the electoral law approaches. With a mechanism that would foresee an extremely wide majority bonus, which is not impossible to be struck down by the Constitutional Court, because it exceeds the limits accepted at the time of Renzi's "Italicum".
According to the proposals made by Meloni's group, the coalition that receives forty percent of the votes will gain more than fifty-five percent of the mandates. That is, beyond what has been allowed by the Constitutional Court.
The speed with which the right seeks to approve the new law also raises doubts. The majority wants to submit the law, ugly named "Stabilicum", to Parliament in the coming days, saying goodbye, among other things, to even a minimum of that institutional courtesy that would impose a preliminary confrontation with the opposition. But there is no question of that.
In general, in fact, it really seems that the majority is overcome by the fear of losing first and foremost the referendum and, consequently, that halo of invincibility that has accompanied its journey since the victory of 2022. Thus, Meloni is looking for shortcuts and efforts. But he is making a gift to the opposition, led by the Democratic Party and the 5 Star Movement, which, on top of the momentum of the "No" campaign, based entirely on the authoritarian temptations of Giorgia Meloni, are now adding another element, so that the dynamics of intimidation against the right becomes this: fraudulent law, attack on magistrates, elections and Meloni at the Quirinale.
