Thirteen people were arrested on Friday in the north of Montenegro by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, which accused them of being members of a criminal organization that, according to it, during last year until October of this year, made possible illegal border crossing and smuggling of people from Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Syria and other countries to Montenegro.
A large number of people were involved in this smuggling, enabling the illegal crossing of the border for a total of 352 people, with the aim of financial or other benefits.
The Police Directorate together with the border police, in cooperation with the support of international partners, in a press conference announced the arrest of 13 people for 17 criminal offenses.
"It is suspected that one of the persons formed a criminal group together with 7 persons who were involved in the smuggling of immigrants. These people became members of a criminal group that managed to smuggle from the direction of Albania, through Montenegro, over 350 people, who had to continue towards Bosnia-Herzegovina", said Montenegrin police officials.
On this occasion, it was emphasized that today's activities are a confirmation of cooperation at the global level.
