German Chancellor Olaf Scholz told voters that they will be the ones to decide the outcome of the February 23 election in Germany and not the owners of social networks, thus referring to the comments of the owner of the "X" network, Elon Musk.
Publicly, Musk expressed support for the extremist German party Alternative for Germany, AfD, first on his platform and then to the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.
"In general, one might think that the more extreme one's opinion is, the more attention it receives. But it is not the person who shouts the loudest who decides how things will continue in Germany. It's the majority of reasonable people in the country", declared Scholz.
Although not mentioned by the chancellor, the billionaire Musk, founder of the company "Tesla" and a person close to the president-elect Donald Trump, has caused a stir in Germany by supporting the AfD.
Musk has insisted that he supports the economic policies of this party and has insisted that it should not be labeled as a subject of the "extreme right".
On Monday, a German government spokesman said Musk's comments showed he was trying to influence the upcoming election and was encouraging voters to vote for a party classified as a "suspected terrorist organization."
Many politicians reacted to the attitude of the American billionaire, comparing him to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, according to them, seeks to interfere in the German elections.
