NATO prepares for any surprise from Russia, launches Operation "East

NATO fortifies eastern flank, launches operation against Russian drones...

NATO has raised the highest alert in recent years on its eastern flank, following a new wave of air provocations from Russia.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said in Brussels that the September 10 incident, when dozens of Russian drones violated Polish airspace, was "dangerous and unacceptable," warning that it was not an isolated incident.

" Our air defenses responded successfully, but this was the largest violation of NATO airspace ever recorded. And it is not the only one. Russia is becoming increasingly reckless in the skies of our eastern flank. We have seen Russian drones also enter the airspace of Romania, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Whether intentionally or negligently, this remains a dangerous and unacceptable act ," Rutte stressed.

New Operation: "East Guard"

To reinforce the security of countries on the front lines facing Russia, NATO has announced the launch of Operation Eastern Sentry. This military activity is expected to begin in the coming days and will include a large presence of Allied forces from Denmark, France, the United Kingdom, Germany and other Alliance countries.

Rutte stressed that this is not just an ordinary exercise, but a new operational deployment that will combine traditional military capabilities with modern counter-drone technology.

" Eastern Sentry will give the Alliance more flexibility and strength on the eastern flank. The message is clear: as a defensive alliance, we are always ready to defend every inch of our territory ," said the NATO chief.

Anti-drone wall: a joint EU-NATO strategy

In parallel with NATO measures, the European Commission has proposed the creation of an “anti-drone wall” along the EU’s eastern borders. President Ursula von der Leyen’s initiative was welcomed by the Alliance’s Supreme Allied Commander for Europe, General Alexus Grynkewich, who considered the step to be fully in line with NATO’s defense strategy.

" From my visits to the Baltic countries, I have seen that many states are investing in new defense systems, learning from the experience of Ukraine. Sensors, kinetic and non-kinetic weapons are essential to counter the threat from drones. The integration of these technologies into our regional plans will be inevitable ," he declared.

A fortified eastern wing

Recent events confirm that NATO's eastern flank is today the hottest line of Euro-Atlantic security. From the Baltic to the Black Sea, the countries bordering Russia and Belarus have become key points for the defense of the entire alliance.

With the "Eastern Sentinel" and the anti-drone wall project, NATO and the EU are aiming to create an impassable security belt, showing that the cost of any Russian provocation will always be higher. /Pamphlet
