Pope Francis in his speech held in St. Peter's Square focused on the situation in the Middle East. He called for peace, saying the hostages should be released immediately.
The Pope also added that humanitarian aid should be allowed to enter Gaza as it is vital for the people there.
" Thank you to everyone who participated in this day. Let us pray for Ukraine, for the dire situation in Palestine, Israel and other regions of the world. In Gaza in particular, humanitarian aid must be allowed and the hostages must be released immediately. Let's not give up trying to get rid of guns. Brothers and sisters, stop the fire. War is war, and there are always losses ," Pope Francis said, among other things.
