Israel appears to have decided to completely occupy Gaza. Media in the Gaza Strip have reported that the Israeli army has entered Al-Jalaa Street, in the heart of Gaza City, with tanks. At the same time, drone and Apache helicopter attacks were reported.
The Israeli Air Force is attacking Gaza City, mainly in the northwestern part, Channel 12 reports. A senior security source speaking to Israeli media explained that the attacks were “intense and significant.” In the city center, residents reported hearing loud explosions.
Amid reports that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are beginning the first stages of their assault on Gaza City, the Hostage Families Forum issues a desperate plea to protect their loved ones, accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sacrificing them.
" The 710th night in Gaza could be the last night in the lives of the barely surviving hostages and the last night of the opportunity to find and return the murdered hostages for a dignified burial ," the group said in a statement.
The group claims that a significant number of the 22 hostages that Israel considers alive are being held in Gaza City.
“The prime minister is consciously choosing to sacrifice them on the altar of political considerations,” the group adds, accusing him of ignoring advice from the IDF chief of staff, who reportedly warned against the operation.
