Next target, Iran's supreme leader; Netanyahu's "signal" to

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the assassination of Iran's supreme leader would end the conflict.

It seems that Iran's supreme leader is the next target of the Israeli services, which in a chain attack executed the entire chain of command of the Iranian forces, as well as the scientists involved in the nuclear programs.

In the interview with ABC News, the Israeli Prime Minister said that targeting Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, would end, not escalate, the ongoing war between Israel and Iran that erupted late last week.

When asked by ABC News' chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl about President Donald Trump's rejection of an Israeli plan to assassinate Iran's Supreme Leader, concerned that it would escalate the conflict, Netanyahu said: "This will not escalate the conflict, it will end the conflict."

"We have had half a century of widespread conflict from this regime that terrorizes everyone in the Middle East; it has bombed the Aramco oil fields in Saudi Arabia; it is spreading terrorism, subversion and sabotage everywhere," Netanyahu said.

"'Forever war' is what Iran wants and they are bringing us to the brink of nuclear war. In fact, what Israel is doing is preventing this, ending this aggression, and we can only do this by confronting the forces of evil," he added.

Asked if Israel would indeed target the supreme leader, Netanyahu said Israel was "doing what it had to do."

"I won't go into details, but we have targeted their best nuclear scientists," Netanyahu said.

"It's basically Hitler's nuclear team," he added.

Netanyahu said it is in America's interest to support Israel as the latter seeks to eliminate Iran's nuclear program.

"Today is Tel Aviv. Tomorrow is New York. Listen, I understand 'America First.' I don't understand 'America Dead.' That's what these people want. They're chanting 'Death to America.' So we're doing something that's in the service of humanity and it's a battle of good against evil. America stands, should and does stand with good. That's what President Trump is doing, and I deeply appreciate his support," he told Karl.

The Israeli prime minister also dismissed a Wall Street Journal report that Iran has signaled to partners that it is seeking to end hostilities and resume negotiations over its nuclear program.

"I'm not surprised. I mean, they want to continue to have these fake talks in which they lie, deceive, push the US into action. And, you know, we have very strong information about that," he said.

Asked to respond to several Republicans who oppose America's military support for Israel's attacks on Iran, including commentator Tucker Carlson, Netanyahu said Iran is a "threat to the entire world."

"We are not just fighting our enemy. We are fighting your enemy. For God's sake, they chant, 'death to Israel, death to America.' We are simply in their path. And this could reach America soon," Netanyahu said.
