Kuwait International Airport has been hit by a series of drones attributed to Iran, Kuwaiti officials announced, according to the state news agency KUNA.
The attacks, which occurred today, damaged the airport's radar system and several fuel tanks. Authorities confirmed that there were no reports of injuries.
Firefighters have intervened to extinguish the large fire in the affected area.
According to official sources, a total of 15 drones have been launched towards Kuwaiti territory in the last 24 hours.
Officials linked the development to recent tensions in the region. Iran has said such attacks are retaliation for military operations launched by Israel and the United States last month, while several Gulf states, including Kuwait, support and shelter American forces.
