According to local media reports, three Lebanese journalists have been killed in a targeted Israeli attack on their media vehicle in southern Lebanon.
The dead were identified as Ali Shoeib, a reporter for Al Manar TV, a network affiliated with the militant group Hezbollah, and Al Mayadeen journalists Fatima and Mohamed Fetoni. They were killed in an airstrike in the city of Jezzine.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the attack and called it a "blatant crime" that, according to him, violates international law, which provides for the protection of journalists during war.
The Israeli military confirmed it had killed Ali Shoeib in a strike, but accused him of being a Hezbollah operative posing as a journalist.
This is the second time Israel has been accused of targeting journalists in Lebanon since the outbreak of the war.
Last week, Mohammad Sherri, a well-known Al Manar TV presenter, and his wife were killed in another targeted attack.
According to data cited in the report, so far more than 1,100 civilians, including 120 children and 42 members of emergency medical services, have been killed by Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon.
Many citizens in Lebanon fear that Israel is using tactics similar to those it has been accused of in Gaza, including the deliberate targeting of civilians, journalists and medical teams. Israel has denied these accusations.
