The armed forces of Yemen's Houthi rebels targeted Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv with a "Palestine-2" hypersonic missile, spokesman Yahya Saree announced.
Saree said the Yemeni Armed Forces missile unit successfully carried out a unique military operation targeting Ben Gurion in Tel Aviv with the "Palestine-2" supersonic missile, the Iranian Tasnim news agency, affiliated with the Houthi rebels, reported.
The Yemeni military spokesman stated that the operation successfully achieved its objective with divine help, causing more than 4 million Israelis to flee to shelters and resulting in the suspension of flights at the airport.
Saree said that Yemen monitors enemy movements and plans aimed at stopping the Yemeni support front, adding that "we and all the free people of our steadfast and mujahideen nation, with God's help, remain on full alert and readiness to confront any enemy move to defeat them."
Israeli military officials said air defense systems have successfully intercepted the missile threat from Yemen.
Sirens were heard across central Israel, including the Tel Aviv area, the Shefela region, Jerusalem and parts of the West Bank, Israeli reports said.
Yemen has regularly launched missiles and drones at Israeli targets since the start of the war in Gaza, with the Houthi rebels declaring their operations as part of solidarity with Palestinians under Israeli bombardment.
