War in the shadows
It has been done in the past with great effectiveness and significant results. Israel has eliminated scientists, sabotaged facilities, blocked the flow of weapons/technology in favor of the Islamic Republic and Shiite militias. There are ambushes, base raids and truck convoy strikes. Tehran responded with attacks and bombings, using cells – for example the Lebanese Hezbollah – accused of revenge attacks.
War at sea
Merchant ships, oil tankers and, in at least one known case, a mother ship used by Pasdaran intelligence in the Red Sea were targeted. Saviz, that's his name, was damaged in 2021 by Israeli special forces and replaced by Beshad. Commando forces and kamikaze drones were used in the attack. Conventional navies, which are lagging behind, have the strength to rise to the challenge: the Iranians are working to improve it, while making no secret of their ambitions across the Gulf, while Tel Aviv has modern missile and submarine units, an important component.
War in the sky
Extensive use of aviation, kamikaze and attack drones and missiles of all types. Ballistic missiles, floating, simple, which are certainly not sophisticated, but which in the hands of Tehran acquire a political value. Because they allow him to target the opponent without worrying too much about effects and accuracy. On the other hand, the Jewish state has at its disposal superior technology, an anti-aircraft shield that has proven effective or long-range missiles. They are systems with which classic operations are carried out, but also targeted assassinations. In recent days, the duets have made a turn, if you will, symbolic - for some just a show - which nevertheless led to the violation of the red line: they attacked each other directly and "publicly", although with differences and forms different. Observers rightly repeat that a taboo has been broken.
The war of words
Threats, promises of surprises, hints of special equipment and "imaginative" solutions. The propaganda campaign has always been intense, emphasizing the tone for domestic purposes, with messages dedicated to the relevant public opinion and international partners. Once the Mossad remained silent, much has now changed. There is a greater media presence: the famous case in which Bibi Netanyahu revealed to the cameras in April 2018 the theft of the Iranian nuclear archive carried out - according to the official version - by the secret services.
War by "proxy"
Israel (the Sunni regimes of the Gulf and in the past the US) in some cases rely on the help of internal Iranian opposition groups: the Baluch, the Kurds, the Arabs from Ahazi, the nationalists, the Mujahideen. They are autonomous formations which can lend a hand to cause problems. A choice of the Mossad dating back more than a decade: it allows it to activate the cores already present which are equipped with the necessary tools (drones, explosives, tips) and avoid risks to its agents. Iran, in addition to well-trained militias with sufficient arsenals - think of the Houthis in Yemen and the Palestinian Hamas itself - has introduced a variant: the use of foreigners, often figures connected to the underworld, ready to carry out anti-Israeli missions. .
