Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree calling 130,000 citizens for military service this fall.
In Russia, all men between the ages of 18 and 27 must serve one year in the army or undergo equivalent training during higher education.
Putin, who signed an order in March calling up 147,000 people for the spring campaign, said this month he was preparing for a long war in Ukraine.
In July, Russia's parliament raised the maximum conscription age to 30 from 27, starting on January 1, 2024.
Russia had planned to significantly increase its military personnel, but this goal has been complicated by the number of undisclosed casualties in the Ukrainian conflict.
