The balance of victims caused by the floods in Greece has increased again. This afternoon, the body of a 42-year-old man was found by the coast guard in Pagasitikos Bay, bringing the death toll to 15.
According to Greek media, he was swept away by the stream on Tuesday morning when heavy rain fell and disappeared before the eyes of the 17-year-old boy, who managed to escape.
The 42-year-old's son was a passenger in the car and was able to escape by climbing onto the top of the vehicle. Speaking to the local media, he narrated the whole incident.
" I remember everything. It all started when my father made the decision to cross a rushing stream. I remember our whole conversation. While we were in the car we tried to contact someone for help and succeeded. Finally, my father managed to drive the car. When this happened, the rear window broke and the whole car was filled with water.
We couldn't stay and left. I managed, without knowing how, to climb onto the roof, but the waters were so fast that they took my father away. I didn't see him again and all he told me was that he couldn't hold back any longer. The river overturned the car and as soon as I had the chance I got out into a field. I managed to contact my people who notified the fire brigade" , said the 17-year-old.
