Sergei, who now lives in Vilnius, Lithuania after fleeing the country when Putin invaded Ukraine, estimates there are currently more than 500 political prisoners in Russia. This is more than triple the figure of 183 just five years ago in 2018.
Speaking to The Sun about the documentary, Foreign Agents, he said the situation is only getting worse in Russia.
