Meanwhile, Israel's chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, has said that the war will continue to intensify as the phases of Israel's plan continue to advance.
In a letter to his troops, Lt. Gen. Halevi said Israel was already "advancing the stages of the war" and that he and his staff were "working tirelessly" to secure the release of the hostages.
"We are fighting for our right and that of future generations to live in safety and prosperity in our homeland ," he said. He called on his troops to be "sharp, professional in every action, alert to every threat and as prepared as possible".
