US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Ambassador Mike Huckabee, visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City today, his first official stop during his visit to the country.

The three officials followed the tradition of placing notes in the cracks of the Wall and then participated in a prayer led by Mordechai Shuli Eliav, CEO of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation. Shuli Eliav then gave the delegation a tour of the Wall’s underground tunnels, which lie beneath the Muslim Quarter of the Old City.
After the tour, Netanyahu described the US-Israeli alliance as as solid as the stones of the Wall they touched.
"I believe Rubio's visit here is a testament to the durability and strength of the Israeli-American alliance, which is as strong and resilient as the stones of the Wall. Under President Trump and Secretary Rubio, this alliance has never been stronger, and we deeply appreciate that ," the Israeli prime minister said.
