Military analyst Michael Clarke, asked how far Vladimir Putin is willing to take this war, stated that it could continue indefinitely unless it is stopped by force from the West.
"One of the things we need to understand is that Putin is absolutely obsessed with this war. He sees security and Europe completely differently from the way we see it, as do most of the people around him ," Clarke said.
The military analyst said the reason for this is the different historical understanding among Putin's inner circle.
" The Russians are absolutely determined to continue at all costs because of the way they see this whole process. Ukraine does not exist. The West has created Ukraine to fight us, to push us back, " he said.
According to Clarke, Putin believes that Western countries have always tried to push Russia back, starting about 200 or 300 years ago. He explained that for this reason Putin does not think of war as an immediate problem or a management problem, and Russia is constantly at war with its neighbors.
