The US has stated that the missiles used by Russia in the recent attacks in Ukraine were obtained from North Korea.
According to the statement released by the White House, North Korea has delivered ballistic missile launch systems to Russia, some of which were used in attacks against Ukraine.
"Ballistic missiles delivered by North Korea to Russia were used in the recent attacks in Ukraine," said a statement from the White House.
The spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby, stated that according to the information provided, North Korea has delivered ballistic missile launch systems to Russia, some of which were used on December 30 and January 2 in the attacks against Ukraine.
The US and its allies will raise the issue at the UN Security Council as the transfer of the missiles constitutes a violation of the sanctions that the Organization has imposed on North Korea.
Kirby also said that Russia intends to buy missiles from Iran.
"We will impose additional sanctions on those who facilitate the transfer of weapons from North Korea and Iran to Russia ," he added.
