Online summit with Zelensky, Macron: We are preparing for the visit to

The online summit of leaders of the "Alliance of the Willing" has begun, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also participating. The meeting is being held under the leadership of French President Emmanuel Macron, while the leaders of Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany and other allied countries also participated.

During his welcoming speech, Macron particularly thanked the representatives who joined him from Australia and Japan, before presenting the agenda for the discussion.

"Our goal is to develop a joint strategy in view of President Zelensky's visit to Washington, which takes place tomorrow," Macron said.

According to official reports, tomorrow European leaders, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, are expected to travel to Washington to hold talks with US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The meeting at the White House aims to strengthen Kiev's positions, at a time when President Trump is negotiating a quick peace deal with Russia.

Trump, who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday, said in a post on social media that "great progress has been made with Russia," without providing further details on the content of the talks.

According to diplomatic sources, proposals were discussed at the Alaska summit that include Russia's surrender of several small occupied areas in exchange for concessions from Ukraine in the form of a large fortified zone in the east, as well as a "freezing" of front lines in other territories.

However, many of Putin's demands are considered too difficult for Kiev to accept, suggesting that difficult negotiations lie ahead to end the bloodiest war in Europe in the last 80 years, which has entered its fourth year and has left over 1 million dead or wounded.
