People in the former US president's circle are suspected of exploiting access to sensitive information for financial gain, while authorities show a lack of action

According to the Financial Times, an adviser to him at Morgan Stanley bank has tried to invest several million dollars in a BlackRock index fund that includes defense industry companies such as RTX, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, which produce aircraft and missiles used by the US military in Iran.
The deal fell through, as the fund was not available to Morgan Stanley clients, and the Pentagon denied that such an attempt had taken place. However, the pattern remains clear: whenever Trump makes market-moving announcements, they are often preceded by transactions that can only be based on information available to his inner circle.
A notable example was the so-called “Liberation Day” on April 2, 2025. On that day, Trump announced punitive tariffs that caused markets to immediately plummet. According to the American platform ProPublica, more than a dozen federal officials sold stocks in the week before the announcement. Members of Congress and their aides also made an unusual number of transactions.
Suspicious transactions were also seen in the inner circle of power. Pam Bondi, Trump's former attorney general, sold shares of Trump Media worth between $1 million and $5 million on the day the tariffs were announced. Trump Media operates the Truth Social platform. After the announcement, the shares fell by 13 percent, allowing Bondi to avoid significant losses.
