Several hours have passed since the Alaska meeting, where Presidents Putin and Trump met without producing an agreement regarding Ukraine, and we still have no reaction from Kiev.
Volodymyr Zelensky, who was not invited to the summit, has also not yet made any public comments.
After a meeting with European leaders on Wednesday, Trump promised that his first phone call after the talks in Alaska would be with the Ukrainian leader.
In an interview after the talks, Trump urged Zelensky to "make a deal."
"They are fighting with a big war machine and we, I think, are close to a deal, but I don't like to say it. I always say, if I'm really close, I say 50-50 because a lot of things can happen.
But I think President Putin would like to solve the problem and it was a problem that should never have happened. All those families have lost someone and I have a book with thousands of people.
"That was presented to me today. Thousands of people, prisoners will be released," Trump said.
