Netanyahu steps down, ceasefire begins between Israel and Hamas

After a 3-hour delay, there is now a ceasefire with Israel and Hamas...

The implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza begins. After delays caused by Israel because Hamas had not published the names of the 3 hostages to be released today, it seems that the green light has now been given.

After a 3-hour delay, there is now a ceasefire with Israel and Hamas.

The hostages to be released today by Hamas militants are: British-Israeli Emily Damari. The 28-year-old was kidnapped during the Hamas attack on October 7. According to her mother, she was “shot in the hand, wounded by a shell in the leg.” She was then taken to Gaza. The other girl who will also gain freedom after the agreement is reached is Romi Gonen, 24. The last, who will no longer be part of the hostage group, is 31-year-old Doron Steinbrecher.

The three hostages to be released

The agreement will be divided into three phases, the first of which lasts six weeks.

This will include a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from central Gaza and the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza.

The agreement stipulates that 600 trucks of humanitarian aid will be allowed into Gaza each day of the ceasefire, 300 of which will be allocated to the north.

Hamas will release the hostages over six weeks at a rate of three hostages each week, with the remainder to be released by the end of the first phase. The remains of those who died will then be sent.

Israel will release all Palestinian women, children and 18-year-olds detained since October 7th until the end of the first phase.

Israel will release 30 Palestinian prisoners for every civilian hostage and 50 Palestinian prisoners for every Israeli soldier released by Hamas.

The total number of Palestinians released will depend on the hostages released and could be between 990 and 1,650.

Negotiations for the second phase of the agreement will begin on the 16th day of the first phase.

These are expected to include the release of all remaining hostages, including male Israeli soldiers, as well as a permanent ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops.

The third phase is expected to include the return of all troops from Gaza and the start of reconstruction in Gaza supervised by Egypt, Qatar and the UN.

The implementation of the agreement will be guaranteed by Qatar, Egypt and the US.
