The war with Iran could end soon, United States President Donald Trump said in a telephone interview with the New York Post, stressing that the American presence in the conflict will not last long.
" We're not going to stay there for long. We're completely destroying them right now, it's total destruction ," he said.
Trump added that, however, there is still work to be done. “ We won’t have to stay there for very long — but we still have work to do in terms of neutralizing their offensive capacity, whatever offensive capacity they have left ,” he said.
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the US president stated that it would "automatically open" after the United States withdraws, adding that other countries could take over guaranteeing navigation in the area.
