US President Donald Trump has hardened his tone towards Democrats, accusing them of endangering the country's security and directly attacking Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
In a roundtable discussion attended by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Attorney General Pam Bondi, Trump stated that "Democrats are putting our country in great danger at this time," adding that what they describe as a "war" should, in his opinion, be seen as a "military operation."
During a visit to Memphis, Tennessee, the American president focused on the figure of Schumer, to whom he used harsh language.
"Schumer is gone. I mean, he's a Palestinian. He should be fighting on the side of Palestine," Trump said.
Trump continued his criticism, highlighting a change in the Democratic senator's stance.
"He has actually become a Palestinian leader... He used to be pro-Israel, now he is pro-Palestine. I have never seen a man change so much," he said.
Trump's recent statements are expected to increase political tensions in the US, especially in the context of the ongoing debate over foreign policy and developments in the Middle East.
