United States President Donald Trump declared during the first meeting of the Peace Board that Albania and Kosovo will have troops on the ground as part of the international stabilization force that aims to operate in Gaza.
He stressed that several countries will be directly engaged on the ground to support the implementation of the ceasefire and maintain security, including Morocco, which he said will contribute to this process.
Trump continued to praise the ceasefire agreement that came into effect in October, claiming that “the war in Gaza is over.” However, his statement comes at a time when repeated violations of the ceasefire are being reported. According to international sources, since the agreement came into effect, over 600 Palestinians have been killed in ongoing incidents.
The US president described the remaining violence as "small flames", suggesting that the situation is under control and that the peace process is moving forward.
One of the most sensitive issues remains the disarmament of Hamas. Trump stated that he believes that Hamas "will surrender its weapons," describing this as a necessary step for the consolidation of peace. "If they do not, they will face severe consequences," he said.
He also added that "due credit" should be given to Hamas for finding and returning the bodies of Israeli hostages in Gaza, presenting this as a positive development within the negotiation process.
