Ukraine will send teams of experts to the Middle East to help countries in the region deal with drone attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Tuesday.
According to him, this week three Ukrainian teams will travel to Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to share the experience gained during the war with Russia.
“ Absolutely all American experts understand that the Ukrainian experience can help repel massive attacks with Shahed drones ,” Zelensky said.
Ukraine has developed advanced capabilities in neutralizing Iranian Shahed drones, which Russia has used extensively to strike Ukrainian targets since the beginning of the war.
Zelensky said that several countries in the Middle East have asked Kiev for help to protect themselves from one-way attack drones, especially after Iran's retaliatory attacks on United States allies in the region.
He added that some countries have secretly purchased interceptor drones to shoot down unmanned aerial vehicles, but according to him, these systems do not fully function without Ukraine's operational experience.
"Even countries that have purchased or provided interceptor drones have realized that without our military, without our operators and without our software, these systems simply do not work," Zelensky said.
According to the Ukrainian president, these missions are just the beginning of broader cooperation with countries in the region on defense against drone attacks.
