Ukraine has received the green light to attack Russia with F-16 fighter jets.
The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, has announced that Ukraine is now allowed to attack targets inside Russia as it has the right of self-defense.
However, Stoltenberg did not reveal when Ukraine will have access to these combat vehicles, while he emphasized that each NATO member who has pledged to hand over the planes has different policies and will decide on the timelines.
Ukraine has long sought the F-16 as a way to counter Russia's air superiority.
Russia has repeatedly warned that such an action would escalate the conflict and could even risk a nuclear war, as an F-16 jet is capable of dropping B61 bombs.
