According to the Israeli military, Hassan Ali Marwan directed the division's operations and had ordered the launch of rockets, drones and shells at Israel and IDF troops in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army (IDF) announced on Wednesday that it had eliminated the commander of the "Imam Hussein" Division in Beirut, just 6 days after he took office, replacing his predecessor, who was also eliminated.
According to the IDF announcement, Hassan Ali Marwan was responsible for the division's operations and was appointed to lead it after the elimination of former commander Ali Maslam Tabajeh, his deputy Jihad al-Safira, and several other senior operatives.
The IDF stated that, in his duty, Marwan had commanded the launch of rockets, unmanned aerial vehicles and shells towards Israeli territory and against Israeli troops operating in southern Lebanon.
