France has been shocked by the murder of three girls aged 11, 10 and 5 by their 41-year-old father.
The horror was revealed when 41-year-old Younes, of Moroccan origin, surrendered at the police station.
According to Le Parisien , the bodies of the 10-year-old and the 5-year-old, who were found covered with a blanket, were "horribly dismembered", while the 11-year-old, who was found dead on the sofa of the house, had no signs of stab wounds, so firefighters initially thought she had simply passed out.
But later it was found that the little girl had marks on her neck and had drowned.
As reported by French media, the 41-year-old Moroccan was known to the police and judicial authorities after he was convicted in April 2021 for violence against his wife and for beating a minor under the age of 15.
At the time, the 41-year-old was sentenced to 18 months in prison, 12 of which he spent outside prison with an electronic bracelet.
The judicial authorities had also issued a protection order in favor of the 41-year-old's ex-wife.
"He was trying to get back together with the mother of his children," says a source.
Police sources estimate that he was handed over in Normandy while the crime took place in the town of Alfortville 200 km away.
"We had seen him drunk several times. The police had come to the house several times," said a neighbor of the family.
A source close to the investigation said the two parents had alternating custody of their children. The 41-year-old claimed that he does not know where the children's mother is.
