The creation of demarcation zones and the implementation of strict monitoring mechanisms were the central topics of extraordinary talks between the trilateral working group of Russia, the United States and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi.

An informed source confirmed to the TASS news agency that the meeting participants continued with a detailed discussion of security parameters.

The discussion of these aspects shows that the dialogue has entered the practical phase of implementing the peace initiatives of the administration of US President Donald Trump. "Yes, these aspects, the security zones, the various control mechanisms, are definitely topics for discussion, along with other important issues," the agency's source said.

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, officially confirmed the start of the negotiation process.

In his evening speech, Volodymyr Zelensky said he receives reports from the Emirates almost every hour.

"In the United Arab Emirates, Ukrainian and Russian delegations are discussing the parameters for ending the war. It is too early to draw conclusions about the content of today's talks, we will see how the discussion will develop tomorrow and what the results will be," he said, noting that he expects the Russian delegation to respond to specific points of the peace plan.

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, met with the three delegations and wished success to all participants in the negotiations. He also expressed his support for efforts to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian conflict.

This is the first such meeting involving all three parties. Discussions are expected to focus on territorial issues, particularly in Donbas.

The Russian delegation is headed by Admiral Igor Kostyukov, chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff.

The delegation also includes representatives of the Ministry of Defense, who received instructions from Vladimir Putin.

Ukraine is represented by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, the Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, and David Arakamia.

From the American side, at the negotiating table will be Jared Kushner, Josh Greenbaum and Steve Witkoff, who will participate in a special economic meeting with Kirill Dmitriev.
