What kills Berisha more is not his personal isolation, but the US call for the rest of the Democratic Party to follow its advice on the political dynamics in the country.
Today's message from the US embassy in Tirana is not for Sali Berisha. Sali Berisha is clear about the future of his relations with the USA. He knows that he and his family will die "non grata", accused of undermining democracy, major corruption and blackmailing justice.
Sali Berisha has no doubts about this. Not even the USA has doubts that Berisha has clearly understood the situation.
The USA wants to pay the debt to the Democratic Party and those who have lined up behind Sali Berisha as "soldiers with a cup of morning tea in hand". The US message is to remind them that they have lined up behind the wrong man.
Perhaps this message would not be necessary if Sali Berisha and his supporters were not involved in a propaganda campaign for political changes in the USA, considering the return of Trump as the return of Sali Berisha. Statements like "Berisha's return has now happened" or "those who suggested we eat grass now find a hole to fit in", reflect an offensive mentality for the USA as a democratic and political state, which changes its principles according to leadership changes.
This is the first strong message that nothing will change and that any attempt to deceive the electorate with the lies of sanctioned persons will be another failure. And this does not come from any US antipathy for DP, but from respect for DP. The US just wants the DP to share its fate with an anti-American leader.
On the other hand, this message aims to encourage PD to be a party with a western profile and not to get into the spiral of violence and conflict imposed by Sali Berisha for his own interests. Confirming that the US has contacts with PD leaders it considers acceptable, it advises them to "engage constructively in a political process that is equal for all".
And this is more serious for Sali Berisha than the direct statements of the USA for non-cooperation with him.

Berisha more easily agrees to remain isolated all his life, but to command a DP against the US, than to accept that the US "commands" the DP and call his people in the embassy to tell them that you have no business with Sali Berisha future. This is more severe than the official sanction given to him.
His entire three-year campaign has been based on the scheme for him to take the DP and use it as a shield against the US. Now that the USA has contacts with PD leaders and is using them against him, it is the end of the world for him, as this blows away the whole battle he has been fighting to show the USA that between it and Berisha, the Democrats they will choose Berisha.
Therefore, unlike others, Berisha is not alarmed why the US repeats that it does not cooperate with "non grata", but he is worried that the US will cooperate with DP. This leaves him sleepless.
