Enough with the lack of respect for those who gave everything!
There are moments and events when a society is revealed not by the grand words it speaks to itself, but by the way it respects those who built its foundations.
Today, such a practice is happening before our eyes, accepted, repeated, normalized:
- the obligation for every pensioner, who receives his pension through the bank, to physically appear twice a year to prove that he is... alive.
I'm saying it bluntly:
This is not just a procedure. It is humiliation.
A person who has lived, worked, contributed for decades, who has raised a family, and who has built this society, is called to appear at the counter to prove that:
"I'm still here. Don't take me off the list of the living."
What bitter irony! What coldness, unforgivable arrogance, and total lack of empathy!
And as if that weren't enough, the very name - "proof of vitality" - sounds harsh and devoid of any human dignity. A term that does not speak of a citizen, but of a biological condition, transforming contribution and life into a cold administrative obligation.
At a time when digital systems like e-Albania record in real time every change in civil status, when institutions have the opportunity to connect and exchange information, how is it possible for this practice to continue in its most severe, coldest and crudest form:
To force a person to physically prove that they are alive?!
Is this incompetence, indifference, or a profound lack of sensitivity towards others, which says more about the character of the system than about the elderly themselves?
The problem is not simply technological.
The problem is a deep human wound, precisely at the moment when an elderly person waits in line and feels that they are being treated as a burden that needs to be verified, not as a person with history, dignity, and memory!
And the most painful thing is that many of us know, see this and remain silent.
Some simply implement it without thinking, while others have become so accustomed to this practice that they no longer see its silent violence.
But let's be honest:
Each of us is a future retiree.
And the question is simple:
- Would we accept this for ourselves?
A society that doesn't know how to respect those who gave their all isn't just saving money. It's losing dignity.
If verification is necessary, let it be done respectfully, with digital means, with institutional coordination, and with language that respects, not humiliates.
Every simple act of respect for the elderly is an act of affirmation of our society and humanity. Every cold and unfair counter is a disregard that shames us all.
Because dignity is not a luxury. It is a foundation.
And no one - no one - should be forced to go to a counter to prove they are alive.
Eshte shume e vertete. Eshte gjeja me fyese dhe denigruese per moshen e trete,per ata qe kane kontribuar per kete shoqeri me kushte shume me te veshtira se ky brez i ashtuquatur "z". Jam shume dakort me profesoreshen per menyren se si shteti duhet te korigjoje dhe te reflektoje per ti dheni te paken dinjitet ketij brezi sepse i ka te gjitha mundesite. Kur shkon e merr ate pension qe dihet se sa minimalist eshte, te pakten te respektohesh dhe te mos terhiqesh zvarre e te thuash"jam ende gjalle" sikur je barre e shoqerise. Respekt e dashur profesoreshe.
Kane dhene "gjitheshka"? çfare patetizmi hipokrit.. Le ti themi gjerat e verteta: 1-Shumica e ketyre pensionisteve sot nuk kane derdhur asnje kontribut per pensionin, sikurse shume te tjere kane punuar 23-24 vite... 2- Shume nga keta marrin pensione te dyfishta duke qene ne Itali apo Greqi pa kontribur ne asnje nga keto vende por duke i renduar taksapaguesve ne te du apo tre vende. 3- Shumica jane edhe ne emigrim tek kalamajte ne USA por nuk duan te paguajne leke dhe i rendojne sistemit shendetesor e pensionist ketej nga anet tona. 4- ka shume pensioniste qe nuk jane me gjalle prej muajsh apo edhe vitesh por vazhdojne ta marrin pensionin te tjeret te cilet nuk kane per te kthyer me leket e marra me pretendimin "i kane dhene prinderit e mi ketij shteti" thua se nuk kane marre pension per dhjetra vite.. Shteti qe ushqehet me paret e taksapaguesve shqipetare qe i heqin nga goja e femijeve, nuk mund te kete rezurse pa fund, ndaj kontrolli nese jane gjalle pensionistet, eshte mese i domozdoshem duke pasur parasysh rastet e mashtrimit
