The campaign to justify the announced defeat signals that the Berisha Family has no intention of leaving the Democratic Party after May 12th...

All polls for the May 11 parliamentary elections have a common denominator; the Democratic Party is 11 to 15 points behind the Socialist Party.

The polls, which do not include the diaspora vote, which is unknown as to which side it will lean, have been declared by the opposition as bought, although the companies have been confirmed as serious in past elections, predicting the result with frightening accuracy, one of them even predicting Trump's victory.

On the other hand, no polling company has accepted Syri TV's financial offers to conduct a poll that would result in the Democratic Party winning, as the company's reputation would be ruined on May 12.

In this atmosphere of signs of defeat, the Democratic Party has welcomed with unusual enthusiasm, as if it had won the elections, a resolution of the four European People's Parties, through which the parliamentary elections of May 11 are almost declared manipulated. The document was drafted by the DP itself, while the EPP has approved it like a professor when a former student knocks on his door to sign a recommendation with characteristics written by him, to meet the formal criteria for a job.

A few days ago, Sali Berisha entrusted Gjin Gjoni with drafting the file on the 'manipulation' of the May 11 elections. 'Black Book 2', similar to the 'Black Book of the 2023 elections', is expected to be approved by the DP forums from July, instead of the analysis of the expected loss.

Today, the European Union delegation in Tirana was forced to refute the Berisha family portal, which claimed that Ambassador Silvio Gonzato had removed from the OSCE-ODHIR report the names of bandits and police officers involved in electoral crime. At the height of the electoral campaign, Sali Berisha has focused his energies on creating a narrative to contest the results of the May 11 elections. The campaign rhetoric has deviated towards denouncing 'electoral crimes', although to date, only one representative of the Democratic Party has been caught red-handed buying votes.

The campaign to justify the announced defeat signals that the Berisha Family has no intention of leaving the Democratic Party after May 12, regardless of the election result. Sali Berisha, in the Assembly of December 11, 2021, approved a strict amendment to the DP statute, regarding the responsibility of the chairman in the event that the party loses the parliamentary elections. The purpose of the amendment was to expel Lulzim Basha from the DP and legitimize Berisha's return, even though Basha's alibi for losing the 2021 elections was supported by Berisha until the day of the 'treason'.

This is point 8 of article 46 of the DP statute. This point provides that; If, after the announcement of the results of the general elections for the Assembly, the Party does not result in a winning governing force, the mandate ends immediately and automatically due to the Statute. In this case, the chairman whose mandate ends is not allowed to run in the subsequent elections for party chairman.

This point of the DP statute is still in force. If the DP loses the elections, Sali Berisha, according to this provision, is automatically dismissed on May 12 as the leader of the DP. But the Family's concern to keep the DP as a helm is expected to dominate this statutory provision, for which a trick will be found to be 'implemented' like the primaries!
