I don't know how much Flamur or Nuredini will be punished, but Berisha has received an advance sentence from this story.
If someone praises a lawyer and sings hymns about him, they always connect it to the difficulty of the case he solved. For example, someone says, "so-and-so lawyer saved my son from the death penalty" or "so-and-so lawyer saved me from life imprisonment, when there was no hope."
Only Sali Berisha praises a lawyer who pays him 6 million dollars, but does not say what this lawyer will save him from.
Today, he tried to justify the payment of $6 million to an American lawyer as a service provided to the Democratic Party and not as an order from it. In an attempt to escape legal responsibility, Berisha made the justification for the payment even more ridiculous.
That is, according to Berisha, the Democratic Party is not a party, but a recipient of the service, while it has signed as a party with him. Nuredin Seci is simply a guarantor who, if Berisha does not pay, will pay him. The DP has even paid him 750 thousand dollars in the meantime.
But after saying all this nonsense, he reiterated the fact that he is one of the best lawyers in the world and that he will save Albania. If Albania has a problem with the US, it cannot solve it with a lawyer, but it solves it with the White House and the State Department.
Likewise, if the Albanian opposition has any problem with the US, it will resolve it with the State Department or the US diplomatic mission. Lawyers are hired for individual and concrete issues.
In this case, the lawyer was hired to resolve Sali Berisha's legal and political issue with the US, which is neither an issue of the opposition nor an issue of the Albanian people, but an issue of the Berisha family.
This is precisely what Sali Berisha cannot say in public, because he knows that every democrat is disgusted when they hear that $6 million must be paid to clear his criminal record.
And he spends the entire afternoon talking about a prominent lawyer, but he doesn't mention the case that the lawyer will defend. Political cases are not defended with lawyers, but with politics and political relations.
Diplomatic matters are also defended through diplomacy. Only criminal and civil matters are defended with a lawyer.
In this case, he was paid to lift the ban on Sali Berisha and his family from traveling to the US, after being sanctioned "non grata" by the Secretary of State. This is a family matter. It is neither an opposition issue, nor a national issue, and it does not need either democrats or patriots. It needs money - which Berisha has in his pocket, but does not have in the bank. And all this confusion of words comes from the fact that he cannot show the money he has here, and is laundering it through a Tropojan electrician in the US.
The only positive thing from his press conference was the fact that he was scared by the agreement and spoke as if he had nuts in his mouth, twisting words to make them as meaningless as possible. This means that he has understood that he has entered the spiral of a criminal case and is considering who to hold criminally responsible. So far, two volunteers have come forward: Flamur Noka and Nuredin Seci.
But despite the fact that they may face the legal consequences of this adventure, Berisha has already taken on the moral and political punishment of this act, having been exposed before Albanians as a thief who is trying to buy his past with dirty money.
I don't know how much Flamur or Nuredini will be punished, but Berisha has received an advance sentence from this story.
Now, since he has left the lawyer without a case, let him hire him to attack the May 11 elections. Let him do a job so that he doesn't get 6 million for nothing. That this sentence that "DP accepts the service" resembles that story of the policeman who arrested someone in a hotel who was with a prostitute, and he said: 'It's not my fault, I accepted the service that a friend of mine paid for, he gave me as a birthday present.'"
