Those who know that power is the "cake of the palace of culture", from which everyone snatched a piece, are wrong. Even those who call power "scam" to enrich their pockets, family members and relatives, are completely wrong. I refer to the current opposition, which, even though it is where it is today, calls power "market loot". Everyone, led by Berisha, has attacked power. They absolutely want it, they want it at any cost and price. Even for power, Sali Berisha does not hesitate to make alliances with "dogs and cats", with phantom parties.
He is ready to bow to the Greeks, to cause unrest, and to use Beleri in the European Parliament against his country. He is ready to sit at the table with "the devil and his son", just to come to power. It seems to him that power will return like in 1996, or 2005. His eyes have darkened, and he does not stop doing dirty things, from the institutions, the prime minister, ministers, deputies, to their families. "Power is a great moral and spiritual responsibility" - said the great philosopher Klunti. But how can Berisha understand that great man, when he had power, he abused it and did everything he could to enrich himself, the people and his clan in the party.
Power belongs to those who have the most votes in a democracy. Power belongs to those who climb the peaks, to those who keep their promises, to those who look people "eye to eye", and not to those who hide from them and manipulate their supporters. The debates of the last few days after the famous "primaries" are showing Berisha's real nature, even to those who had not known him until yesterday. He betrayed his backroom supporters, convinced them that "I will put them on the list", and today he has turned his back on them. He thinks only about power, thinks about how to remove the "non-grata" from him, and how to easily get over the defeat of May 11.
Power for Berisha and his deputies, who have been compiling lists of names of ministers, deputy ministers, directors and bosses for 2 months, is “to extort and enrich oneself.” That’s what he did from 1992 to 1997. That’s what he did again (when he unfortunately returned to power) from 2005 to 2013. And to think that today, he is seeking power again, even after 34 years in politics, as the man who “undermines” every government that works and develops the country and the future of Albanians.
Power is for idealists, for progressives, for people with courage and a unique worldview in politics, and it is not for tyrants and incorrigible sinners, who bargain with the law and the Constitution of their country. Power is for those who value the vote, trust and support of the people, and not for those who consider voters as telebingo balls. Edi Rama remains the winner and the Prime Minister of Albania for many more years. And do you know why? Because he never plays with the vote and the sentiments of his people. This is power.
