Tammaro Caterino, the 44-year-old son of a former Italian mafia boss, was the target of an assassination attempt in Cipriano D'Aversa, Caserta, Italy. Caterino was in a "Fiat" type vehicle outside a Bari, when he was shot.
The bullets hit the back of the car, in which the 44-year-old's Albanian friend was also located. Tammaro Caterino is the son of Sebastiano Caterino (pictured), the boss of the Casalesi family killed on October 31, 2003.
The conflict, according to Italian media, allegedly came after an argument over renting a car. In the targeted car were the persons involved, namely Tammaro Caterino and an Albanian citizen.
Two people then managed to escape. Despite the shooting, no injuries were reported. The investigation to identify the perpetrators was immediately started, but both disappeared after the incident, making it difficult for the authorities to trace them.
Despite the initial version about the motives of the event, in reality, it is still not known whether there was any conflict between the participants in the fight or whether there are gangs that are trying to take possession of the territory.
