
New details have come to light regarding Thursday's incident, where a 78-year-old man was found dead in his apartment in the village of Bulgarec, in Korça.
Gëzim Vije's body was discovered in the morning hours by the postal worker, who distributes pensions. After calling the elderly man several times and receiving no response, he notified the neighbors. Together they opened the door of the apartment, where the lifeless body was found in one of the rooms.
According to forensic expertise, the 78-year-old had a serious head wound, caused by a hard object, which is suspected to have taken his life. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim may have struggled with the perpetrator before being fatally struck.
Police and experts have returned to the scene today, while the weapon used in the crime has not yet been found.
Meanwhile, the interrogation of the victim's family and relatives continues, but so far their testimonies have not helped in identifying the perpetrator.
