Fatal accident on the Tirana-Durrës highway, 39-year-old man dies

A serious road accident occurred on the evening of April 20, 2026 on the Tirana-Durrës highway, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old man.

The incident occurred around midnight, while the vehicle in which two people were traveling allegedly went off the road. As a result of the collision, the driver of the vehicle died at the scene, while the passenger was injured and transported to the hospital.

"On 20.04.2026, at around 23:50, the vehicle with the driver, citizen SC, 39 years old, and the passenger, citizen VC, 29 years old, is suspected of having left the road, on the "Tirana-Durrës" axis. As a result, the 39-year-old lost his life, while citizen VC is under the care of doctors. The investigation team is working to clarify and document the circumstances of the case," the police announced.
