An accident occurred today on the Lushnje-Berat road, near the village of Barbullinje, where a heavy tonnage vehicle went off the road and ended up in a drainage canal.
According to preliminary data, the truck loaded with gravel lost control at the exit of a curve and overturned on the other side of the road.
Immediately after the incident, the Lushnja fire brigade arrived at the scene and managed to extract the driver of the vehicle, who was trapped in the cabin. He was urgently transported to the Lushnja hospital, where he is receiving the necessary medical treatment. Hospital sources indicate that the driver suffered serious injuries, but was conscious at the time of extraction.
Based on preliminary data from traffic officers, it is suspected that the cause of the accident was the explosion of the vehicle's front tire while driving, which caused the driver to lose control and the truck to overturn.
Traffic police are at the scene, documenting the circumstances of the accident and managing vehicle traffic on the Lushnje-Berat segment.
