The two suspected perpetrators of the murder of a 25-year-old Albanian man in Athens have fallen into police custody 16 years after the crime.
The serious crime in which Arjan Xhambazi, from Pogradeci, was killed, happened in 2008, and after investigations, the suspected killers were identified and arrested.
41-year-old Gëzim Latja, a resident of Elbasan, and 52-year-old Armando Tarushllari (aka Jetnor Cinellari), a resident of Tirana, have fallen into the hands of the Korçë Police, for whom the Prosecutor's Office had issued a restraining order for the criminal offense of "Deliberate murder", committed in cooperation.
According to the blue uniforms, the incident happened during a conflict for weak motives where Arjan Xambazi was killed and another was injured.
For this event, the Greek authorities were able to identify and arrest only one of the three suspected perpetrators of the event. But after the investigations, it was possible to identify and catch two other perpetrators.
"The cooperation and joint investigations between the Korçë Local Police Directorate and their counterparts in Athens, as well as between the respective prosecutors' offices, led to the identification and arrest of two citizens suspected as co-authors of the murder of a 25-year-old Albanian man in Athens, an event that occurred in 2008.
The Investigative Structures of the Korçë Local Police Directorate, in implementation of the order letter sent by Athens in order to identify the other two perpetrators of the event that occurred on 06.12.2008, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, reopened the investigations for the identification of the other two co-authors of the murder. of the 25-year-old.

The joint investigations regarding the complete documentation of the event and their extradition to the Greek state continue. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Korçë", the police announced.
