Sokol Bode has appealed to the Supreme Court, where he seeks the annulment of the decision of the Special Appeal that sentenced him to 8 years in prison, the former head of the Dhërmi police station.

His request for annulment of the decision will be examined by the member of the Supreme Court Ilir Panda.

In January of this year, Bode was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment, with a final decision, while his battle will now continue at the highest level of the judiciary.

He is accused of drug trafficking, implicated in the criminal organization run by brothers Moisi and Florian Habilaj.

Sokol Bode, the former head of the Dhërmi Police, was arrested in August 2022 in Berat by the Special Operational Force.

He was sentenced to 8 years in prison, as he is accused by SPAK of involvement in the narcotics traffic carried out by the criminal organization led by the brothers Moisi and Florian Habilaj.

Who is Sokol Bode?

Bode, the former director of the Post Office in Dhërmi, has been in the public and media's attention for a long time, after the publication of a photo where he was seen alongside Florian and Moisi Habilaj.

Bode, together with the former director of the Vlora Police, Jaeld Çela, as well as Gjergj Kohila, the head of the sector of the fight against organized crime, directed the Vlora District Directorate during 2015-2016, while they are accused of being included in the file Habilaj' for the traffic of cannabis.

The accusation that rests on these officials is that of inaction against the cultivation of cannabis sativa in this district.

On February 3, 2019, the Prosecution of Serious Crimes sent to the Court of Serious Crimes the file for the trial of the defendants Saimir Tahiri, Jaled Çela, Gjergji Kohila and Sokol Bode, under the charge of "Trafficking of narcotics", in cooperation in the form of the group of structured criminal, "Structured criminal group", as well as "Commitment of criminal offenses by criminal organization and structured criminal group", provided by articles 283/a/1, 28/4, 333/a/2 and 334/1 of Criminal Code.

On July 10, 2019, the court decided to suspend the trial for the defendants Sokol Bode and Gjergji Kohila as they had not been found, while separating their case from the case of Saimir Tahiri and Jaeld Çela.
