The Kosovo Police has issued an official communiqué regarding the arrest of 55-year-old Gëzim Çela, considered a "Drug Baron and wanted by SPAK, as he was sentenced to prison by the former Court of Serious Crimes, as well as from Italian justice.

Police investigators from DHTN managed to locate the suspect, who was wanted internationally, around 5:55 p.m. today. The suspect G.Ç., (male citizen of Albania), at the time of his arrest, was in the company of two female citizens of Albania and a male from Kosovo. It is suspected that the citizen of Kosovo sheltered the suspect from Albania for a while in his house in a village of Vitia. The arrest was made in the village of Dardani in Ferizaj and the anti-drug investigators were supported by other KP units during the operation to arrest the suspect.
The judicial authorities were notified of the arrest, and by order of the prosecutor of the Department of Serious Crimes-Ferizaj, the house of the AI suspect, in a village of Vitia, was searched. During the house search, an AK-47 with 15 rounds was found and confiscated.
Also, in connection with the case, the FAST-ILECU Unit has been notified, which in coordination with the justice bodies, will deal with procedures regarding cases where we are dealing with arrests of persons who are wanted internationally.
