
Nine people have been arrested for drug trafficking in Spain and Portugal. 2 tons of cocaine were seized in several apartments. The drugs were destined for Spain.
Foreign media say that part of this charge was for the Albanian criminal organization "Farruku".
This organization composed mainly of Albanians has extended its activity mainly in Spain. Created in 2008, its members are also accused of several serious crimes, such as murder, hostage-taking and money laundering.
The last operation was coordinated by Europol and was carried out in cooperation with the US agency DEA. The detainees were caught in northwestern Spain and northern Portugal.
Charges of money laundering have also been brought against the 9 arrested.
