Sergei Hasanpapaj is a well-known name in Albanian justice. Hasanpapaj is suspected of the murder of Bledar Muça, who was known for his close ties to the Çapja tribe in Elbasan and was considered the right-hand man of Ardjan and Florenc Çapja.
He was extradited from Belgium to Albania today, after being accused of being involved in the murder of Bledar Muça, a crime that occurred on January 22, 2022 in Aartselaar, Belgium.
But who is Bledar Muça?
The Special Prosecution Office conducted an action on November 25, 2024 in Elbasan, where it issued 21 security measures, 18 of them prison arrests. One of the persons for whom SPAK issued an arrest warrant was Sergej Hasanpapaj, who is a well-known name in international justice.
Hasanpapaj turns out to have been arrested in 2022 in Belgium for the murder of Bledar Muça.
He was accused of providing information and logistical assistance that led to the assassination attempt on Muça. Hasanpapaj was arrested at Valencia airport in 2024.
In early 2026, Belgium decided to extradite Hasanpapaj to face justice. He was sent for trial in connection with his role in the murder of Muça and his connections to Albanian criminal groups operating in Europe.
For the murder of Muça, Spanish police have arrested a 43-year-old Albanian, who may have been involved in the crime that occurred in Aartselaar, Belgium. According to Belgian media, the Albanian, identified only as Marsel D., is accused of the murder that occurred in 2022 of Muça.
Spanish police were able to intercept 43-year-old Marsel D. at Valencia airport on Friday. This was after authorities had information that a person wanted by Belgium would arrive on a flight from Albania. After landing, he attempted to pass passport control with false documents, based on fingerprints, he was identified.
Bledar Muça, the 39-year-old originally from Peshkopia, born and raised in Elbasan who was executed in Antwerp, Belgium, turns out to be one of the names that has filled the pages of the black chronicle since 2009. Known as the right-hand man of the Çapjave but also with the nickname "Anglezi", Muça turns out to have been involved in many criminal events, one of them against the uniforms of the State Police. The last time Bledar Muça was put in handcuffs was in May 2020 after he injured a police officer. In 2016, he escaped two assassination attempts, specifically in February and June.
His name is implicated in the murders of the brothers Roland and Ilir Rexhepi, murders that occurred at different times in the city of Elbasan, but which were never proven by the police and the prosecution. On December 30, 2011, he was also declared internationally wanted for the murder of Roland Rexhepi's brother, former police officer Ilir Rexhepi, known by the pseudonym "Doda". Muça, through a letter, informed the police that he had no hand in the murder, since he had been in England that day. In 2013, he returned to face justice and the police and the prosecution dismissed the case against him.
He was killed in 2022 by two people who were waiting for him and shot him dead the moment he returned to his apartment.
