The next hearing is taking place at the GJKKO for the defendants Plaurent Dervishaj and Julian Meçe, who are accused of the murder of Andi Maloku in the Shkozet assassination attempt against former prosecutor Arian Ndoja.
The cohabitant of Arben Mërkur alias Ismaili, the latter executed in May 2022, appeared in court to testify.
Citizen Sh testified that she never knew her husband's friends and that she had no knowledge of his criminal activity.
Excerpts from the hearing at the GJKKO:
Citizen SH: I live in Sukth Durrës. Arben Merkuri was my cohabitant. I did not know any of his friends. Arben Merkuri passed away in May 2022. We have a shop in Sukth. He also worked in the Municipality. He previously had the surname Ismaili. In 2020, my husband's sister died in Italy. I do not know Plaurent Derivshaj. We do not know anything about how he was killed. I have been cohabiting with Arben Merkuri for 15 years. I do not know anything about my husband's friends or who he was with. I have two children from our cohabitation. I remember that he had a phone. There were never any problems with the justice system. The day Arben was killed, we were together, someone called him on the phone and as he came down the stairs we heard gunshots. The son told me they killed his father. I do not know who did the murder. I have a regular business with documents.
Plaurent Dervishaj: Have you heard what is being said about your husband? Your husband is said to have been a hired killer. No woman tells her husband to "go kill"
Citizen SH: It's not true.
Plaurent Dervishaj: Your husband raped two journalists, you saw it
Citizen SH: I haven't seen it.
