A serious incident occurred yesterday evening in Klos i Matit.
A 66-year-old citizen, while attempting to cross the Mat River, was swept away by the strong current of the water.
The lifeless body of Xhemal Zhuku was found several kilometers away, with no signs of life, in the early hours of this morning. Police services, family members and residents of the area participated in the search.
The investigation team is at the scene and is working to fully clarify the circumstances of this tragic event.
"Yesterday evening, around 7:00 PM, information was received that citizen Xh.Zh., a resident of the village of Fshat, Klos municipality, had lost contact with his family.
Immediately after receiving the notification, the Police services, in cooperation with the family, began searching for him.
As a result, this morning, in the course of the Mat River, in the village of Fshat, the lifeless body of citizen Xh.Zh., 66 years old, was found. From the preliminary actions taken, it is suspected that the 66-year-old, while attempting to cross the river, was swept away by its current and consequently lost his life.
"The investigation team is at the scene and is carrying out investigative actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the case," the police announced.
